According to Japanese media reports, a 7.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the central and northern regions of Japan at 16:10 pm local time on January 1st. The epicenter was located in the Noto area of Ishikawa Prefecture. Due to the impact of the earthquake, several semiconductor factories in Japan located near the earthquake zone have recently suspended work to assess the effects.
Although the main gathering place of Japan's semiconductor industry is located in the eastern part of Kyushu Island, as well as the Kanto and Tohoku regions of Honshu Island, according to TrendForce's survey, MLCC giant Murata, semiconductor wafer giant Shinetsu, Global Wafer, Toshiba, Takahashi Semiconductor, and TPSCo jointly operated by New Tang have factories in the vicinity of the earthquake affected area in Noto, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
